Why a secondary account?
Sometimes you want to browse Instagram stories without your main profile appearing in the viewer list. A separate account — created with a different email or phone number — lets you watch content discreetly while keeping your primary identity separate.
What you'll need
- A new email address not linked to any existing Instagram account.
- Alternatively, a phone number not already associated with Instagram.
- A device with the Instagram app installed or access to the Instagram website.
Registration steps
- Open the Instagram app or visit the Instagram website and tap Sign Up.
- Enter the new email address or phone number you've prepared.
- Create a username and password. Choose a username that does not reveal your identity.
- Complete the profile setup — you can skip adding a profile photo or bio if you prefer.
- Once registered, use this account to search for and view stories. Your main account remains unseen.
This method follows Instagram's standard registration process. It does not require third-party tools or special software.
Using a secondary account is a straightforward way to keep your story views private. Just remember to switch back to your main account when you're done browsing.
Keep it separate
Always log out of the secondary account before returning to your main profile. This helps avoid accidental interactions and keeps your viewing activity compartmentalized.
